Dear all

I would like to inform you that we have made some changes in Codan Marine to ensure an organisation that is closer to the customers and brokers. The aim is to create more local empowerment to ensure that you as our customers and partners get closer to our decision makers. Therefore I hope you continually will experience benefits from this reorganisation.

On the back of the great people and resources within Codan Marine, we have created an organisation with local Area Managers. The Area managers will be empowered to make the vast majority of the decisions locally. This will contribute to a more efficient decision making process whilst at the same time our service will be adapted to local needs. We are proud of the immense resources and capabilities available within the RSA Group and we will aim to leverage these competences further going forward.

Nordic cargo will remain a Nordic organisation in order to ensure focus on this potential growth area. We will build a Center of Excellence while at the same time ensuring local capabilities that will tend to your specific needs.

During the next month, the new Marine Management Team and Scott Ørmen will develop the new and more customer focused organisation. This might implicate some changes for you – hopefully positive ones. Managers and employees from Codan Marine will make sure to keep you informed about the changes going forward.

Below I would like to present you for the new Marine Management Team:

Area Manager NorwayAnne Systad previously held a position as Claims Manager in Norway. She will keep the position as Claims Manager until a new Claims Manager has been recruited. Anne has the right competence to drive the strong growth agenda in Marine Norway.

Area Manager Sweden/FinlandAnders Hellman previously held a position as UW manager in Sweden. He is very experienced and has a strong reputation within the Marine industry. Furthermore, he has the right competences to retain and develop the Marine portfolio in Sweden.

Area Manager DenmarkMichael Weber previously held a position as Risk Director, Marine. Michael will contribute with his long history within the Marine industry, high technical capabilities and the competence to develop the Marine business within the Danish market.

Nordic Cargo ManagerEbbe Larsen previously held a position as Nordic UW Manager and will keep the Nordic focus to make sure we utilize the potential in our Cargo Business. Ebbe will contribute with his very strong core competences within the Cargo industry.

Furthermore Lars Lou Hendriksen will continue as director for Survey Association (SAC). Lars has a long history with SAC and therefore the right competences and experiences to unlock the full potential of the SAC business both internally and externally.

Scott Ørmen stays as Director for Codan Marine 

In October last year Scott Ørmen was named Marine Director interim, now he takes on the role permanently. With a background in the maritime business Scott Ørmen knows what is needed to continue to deliver on the Codan Marine promise 'keeping the business moving at all times'.

"I'm very happy to announce Scott as our Marine Director. Scott has proven that he has the potential to move our Marine business in the right direction and that he is the right candidate for the position," says Aaron Devitt, Nordic Commercial Director in RSA Scandinavia.

Scott will continue as Commercial Director Norway as well as Director for Marine. When asked he comments; "We are all part of the RSA Group. For me to have these two roles will able us to find great synergies between the divisions. Within the next few years we, like all companies, will have to face challenges. For us it is important to maintain a sound development on the Nordic insurance market. We shall continue to reward those customers who run their operations with prudence, and at the same time we will continue to work at creating solutions which remain stable and sustainable over time. I, and Codan Marine, believe in long-term relationships."
